*Loden Wool originates from the Tyrol region of Austria where it was worn by the mountain peasantry. The wool goes through a wet finishing process using heat, tension and soap (walken) which shrinks and thickens the fabric by up to 66%, making it robust and very resistant to wind, cold and moisture.
